Walking foot, needle feed, and bottom feed dog moving in unison. Built for upholstery shops, leather rooms, and the long seams that wear out lighter machines.

Who runs this

Upholstery shops sewing automotive, marine, and furniture covers. Bag and case makers handling thick canvas, multi-layer webbing, and laminated fabrics. Production floors that run 18 oz canvas in three layers and need it to stop skipping stitches at the corners.

If you're sewing single-layer cotton apparel, the SW-1510L is overkill — look at the SW-8000A or our single-needle direct-drive line. If you're sewing the inside of a car seat, this is the floor model.

Why this over a Juki LU-1510 or Consew 206RB

Same class of work — single-needle unison feed, large-bobbin, suitable for thick materials. Three things differentiate it on a US shop floor:

  1. Servo motor included, assembled, on the table. Not boxed up for the shop to wire. The 750W direct-drive servo is quiet and adjusts down to fingertip-slow without losing torque.
  2. Walking foot, needle feed, and feed dog in unison. Three feed surfaces moving together. Reduces material slippage and skipped stitches on three-layer canvas, leather welts, and laminated webbing where lighter feed systems fail.
  3. Parts on the shelf, not on a six-week order. Hooks, presser feet, motor parts, and tension assemblies stocked in the same warehouse as the machine. Hook chips on a Tuesday, you're sewing again Wednesday.

Application examples

Auto upholstery

Three-layer leather + foam + canvas headliner with #138 bonded nylon thread. Walking foot prevents the leather from slipping on the foam; needle feed keeps layers aligned through curves.

Marine canvas

18 oz Sunbrella with #92 polyester thread, two passes per seam for a Bimini cover. Reverse stitch holds; no skipped stitches at the corner reinforcements.

Furniture

Sectional cushion welts in performance velvet over high-density foam. Handles velvet pile compression without slipping; servo steps down for corner pivots.
