Description
Single-needle heavy-duty unison feed walking foot — alternative platform to the SW-1510L family. Triple-feed system with vertical-axis large hook, built for the same heavy upholstery and leather work but on a different mechanical lineage.
Who runs this
Same audience as the SW-1510L: upholstery shops, leather goods manufacturers, marine canvas operations. The SW-4400N is the base model in a different walking-foot family — same heavy-duty spec, slightly different mechanical layout.
Why two families? Production shops standardizing on one platform sometimes pick based on operator training, parts availability, or familiarity. The SW-4400 family extends to longer-arm variants (L18, L25, L30) for oversized work that the SW-1510L family doesn't cover.
What sets the 4400 platform apart
- Vertical-axis large hook. Different hook orientation than the SW-1510L horizontal large hook. Same heavy-thread capacity (V138 production), different timing geometry.
- Triple unison feed. Bottom feed dog, needle feed, walking foot — the same three feed surfaces as the SW-1510L. Same slip-resistance on heavy multi-layer materials.
- Long-arm extensions available. The SW-4400-L18 (18" arm), L25 (25"), L30 (30") extend the same platform for oversized work — boat covers, industrial covers, aircraft interiors. The base SW-4400N is the 18-inch-and-under-bench-space pick.
Application examples
Auto upholstery
Three-layer leather + foam + canvas headliner with #138 bonded nylon. Same work as the SW-1510L; pick based on shop standardization.
Marine canvas
18-oz Sunbrella seam construction. Triple feed prevents slippage on UV-stabilized polyester.
Bag manufacturing
Reinforced cordura nylon tactical and travel bags. Heavy webbing handles attached without slippage.
