Description
Single-needle post-bed lockstitch for shoe uppers, hat patches, boot shafts, and any tubular or pre-assembled workpiece a flat bed can't reach.
Who runs this
Footwear factories on shoe upper assembly. Hat manufacturers attaching patches, brims, and reinforcements. Bag and case makers doing finished edge stitching after the body is sewn together. Anywhere the seam wraps a 3-D shape.
If the spec calls for two parallel rows of stitching, the SW-820 is the same machine with double needles. The SW-810 is the cheaper, single-row version that covers most post-bed work.
Why post bed instead of cylinder bed or flat bed
- Vertical column. The needle drops into the post; the workpiece wraps around it. Critical for sewing the inside of a shoe, the underside of a hat brim, or the interior of a tubular bag.
- Tighter curves than cylinder bed. Cylinder bed is a horizontal arm — good for boot shafts and trouser legs. Post bed adds the vertical orientation, which lets you spin the piece at the needle without the bed obstructing.
- Ships assembled, 550W servo. Machine, table, stand, motor — wired and tested. Replaces a clutch-motor post-bed quietly, with finer speed control.
Application examples
Shoe upper
Vamp-to-quarter seam in 3-oz suede with #69 polyester. Post bed lets the upper wrap the column; operator rotates the piece around the needle through the curve.
Hat brim attachment
Brim-to-crown seam on a wool felt hat. Post bed sits inside the hat opening; the seam runs around the entire brim without lifting the workpiece.
Bag reinforcements
Strap anchor on a finished tote in 8-oz veg-tan leather. Post bed navigates the assembled body; operator reaches the anchor point without disassembling.
