Industrial mechanical digital buttonhole machine — single-needle lockstitch buttonholes for shirts, jackets, trousers, and workwear at production volume.

Who runs this

Apparel manufacturers running shirts, jackets, and trousers — every buttoned garment needs buttonholes, and after a certain volume they have to come off a dedicated machine. Workwear and uniform shops where buttonhole consistency across a production lot is part of the spec.

Not the right machine for keyhole buttonholes — those need the SW-9820 electronic keyhole eyelet machine. The SW 781 D is for the standard shirt-style straight buttonhole.

Why digital control over a mechanical buttonholer

  1. Buttonhole sizing is a setting, not a cam. Digital sizing from 22mm × 4mm. Change buttonhole length without swapping cams — the friction that costs the most operator time on mechanical-only machines.
  2. Auto thread trim, auto presser foot lift. Buttonholes are a discrete cycle — start, sew the box, cut the slot, stop. The auto trim + auto lift brings cycle time down to operator placement, not operator-induced delay.
  3. 3,000 SPM with consistent stitch density. Buttonhole stitch density is what tells a finished buttonhole apart from a sloppy one. Direct drive holds the density through the corner pivots and the bartack reinforcement.

Application examples

Dress shirt placket

Six to eight buttonholes per shirt, each 14mm × 3mm with reinforced bartack ends. Identical density across every buttonhole on the run.

Jacket fronts

Three to five buttonholes on a jacket front, varying lengths depending on style. Digital sizing means no cam swap between positions.

Workwear coveralls

Heavy twill workwear with reinforced buttonholes — the bartack ends are critical for resisting daily pull on industrial garments.

What ships with it

Machine assembled with built-in direct-drive servo motor, industrial table, machine stand, automatic thread trimmer, automatic presser foot lift.
