Four-thread overlock with vacuum and direct drive — the standard apparel-construction overlock with the same no-air vacuum system as the SW 933, scaled to the 4-thread spec most shops actually run.

Who runs this

Apparel production lines running cotton wovens, jersey knits, blended performance fabrics. Shops that want the vacuum and production cleanliness of the 933 but don't need the 5-thread safety-stitch capability.

Same vacuum and electric architecture as the 933. Pick the 953 when 4-thread is the spec; pick the 933 when you also need safety stitch.

Why this over the SW 747 e

Built-in vacuum, no air. The 747 e is bench-line standard with no vacuum. The 953 adds 100% electric vacuum without compressed air. Cleaner workstations and simpler floor plumbing.
Infrared opto-electric trim. Auto thread trimming and belt cutting on a fast cycle. Operator doesn't stop to clip threads.
Same direct-drive servo, submerged table. Direct drive (no belt to retension), table-flush head height for ergonomic long shifts, wheels for line reconfig.
