If a single row of stitching is enough — or if the work is flat — the single-needle SW-810 is the cheaper version of the same idea. Pick the SW-820 when the spec calls for parallel rows.

Why this over a Juki PLC-1710 or Adler 268

Post bed wraps the seam. The vertical column gives access from below, around, and through the workpiece — the difference between sewing a shoe upper and trying to fold one through a flat bed without bunching.
Two parallel rows, single pass. Eliminates the second pass that single-needle shops do for decorative or structural double-stitching. Halves cycle time on bag handles and seat panels.

Application examples

Footwear uppers

Boot shaft to vamp seam in 4 oz leather with #92 bonded nylon. Post bed lets you rotate the upper around the column without the toe box fighting the bed. Two parallel rows holds the seam against repeated flex.

Leather bag handles

Reinforcing strap attached to gusset on a structured tote. Double row for both visible decoration and structural reinforcement; the post bed gets the needle inside the corner where a flat-bed can't reach.

Motorcycle seats

Welt + cover panel assembly on a 3-D foam seat base. Post bed navigates the curved seat profile; double row reinforces the welt edge against rider weight cycling.
