Three-needle flatbed coverstitch — UTE table variant of the SW 562 for shops that want the utility table package shipped with the machine.

Who runs this

Same audience as the SW 562: apparel manufacturers running knit construction — t-shirt sleeve and bottom hems, performance leggings, athletic wear, polo bottoms. Shops that prefer the UTE (utility) table configuration over the standard.

Coverstitch is the construction that survives a t-shirt hem through 50 wash cycles without cracking. Lockstitch alternatives crack on first wash.

Why coverstitch on a flatbed

Stretch-tolerant chain. The looper underneath forms a chain that stretches with the fabric. Lockstitch on a knit hem cracks the first time it comes out of the wash; coverstitch doesn't.
Two parallel topstitch rows in one pass. Three needles, two visible parallel rows on the face, looper under. The standard hem look on every athletic-apparel brand.
Direct drive, 5,500 SPM, auto-oil. Continuous production runs without operator stops to oil. Configurable for 2-needle / 4-thread or 3-needle / 5-thread depending on spec.

Application examples

T-shirt hems

Bottom and sleeve hems on cotton-spandex jersey. Three-needle / 4-thread configuration, 5,000 SPM.

Activewear leggings

Waistband and ankle hems on technical performance fabric. The looper-under construction handles the high-stretch nylon-spandex blend without breakage.

Knit polo hem

Pique knit polo with a 1-inch finished bottom hem. Two-needle / 4-thread produces clean inside finish without bulk on the fold.
