The SPEEDWAY SW 243 is a single needle unison feed extra-heavy-duty flat bed industrial lockstitch machine built for saddlery, harness work, and the heaviest leather and industrial textiles. It takes up to #0 thread, drives a needle as large as Nm280, and runs a large oscillating shuttle hook — the combination that lets a machine stitch through stacked bridle leather, heavy webbing, and multi-layer coated fabric instead of stalling on it.

Most machines in this power class are built as cylinder arms, which are excellent for holsters, sheaths, and round work — but awkward the moment you put a flat panel under them. The SW 243 delivers that same extra-heavy stitching capability on a flat bed with a 16.5" (420 mm) long arm. Belts, straps, saddle skirts, tack panels, gun belts, dog collars, and long production runs lie flat and feed straight, with real table support under the work the whole way.

The large oscillating shuttle hook holds substantially more bobbin thread than a standard industrial hook and is engineered specifically for heavy, low-count bonded thread — fewer bobbin changes on long seams, and a tight, clean lockstitch instead of skipped stitches. Feeding is unison triple feed (needle, walking foot, and bottom feed advancing together), so stacked leather and coated layers move as one without shifting or drag marks. Driven by a 900W servo motor for high torque at low speed — the control a leatherworker needs to walk a seam stitch by stitch. Ships complete with industrial table and stand.
