Description
Double-needle decorative stitch walking foot — purpose-built for ornamental stitching on leather goods, upholstery, bags, and heavy textiles. Touchscreen-driven with 200+ pre-programmed patterns.
Who runs this
High-end leather goods manufacturers doing visible decorative stitching as a brand signature — bags, wallets, belts. Custom upholstery shops where the stitch pattern is part of the spec (channel-stitching, contrast-thread topstitch). Bag and case makers adding ornamental seams to bond panels.
Different from the SW-1510L family — those run plain lockstitch. The DECO 204 runs decorative patterns: parallels, zigzags, repeats, programmed shapes. Specialty machine, not a workhorse replacement.
Why this over a generic decorative-stitch machine
- 8 mm needle gauge. Wider needle spacing than typical apparel double-needles — decorative on leather and heavy textile reads cleaner at this spacing.
- 200+ pre-programmed patterns. Touchscreen pattern selection. Operator picks a pattern, runs the seam — repeatable across every garment in the run.
- Walking foot, bold-thread capable. Compound feed handles thick decorative thread (#138 bonded nylon) on multi-layer leather without slippage.
Application examples
Leather wallet edge
Decorative double-row stitch around a wallet edge in 4-oz veg-tan leather. Pre-programmed pattern keeps the stitch length and shape identical on every wallet in the run.
Upholstery channel
Tufted channel stitch on a sectional cushion face. Two needles, decorative pattern, even spacing for the channel-stitch look.
Bag panel seam
Ornamental seam joining gusset to body on a structured leather tote. Decorative pattern + bold thread becomes the brand signature.
