Description

Industrial blindstitch with a convertible swing arm — the production machine that switches between flatbed and narrow cylinder-arm configurations. The active alternative to the SW-718 and the step up from the portable SW 500e.

Who runs this

Drapery shops doing hotel and commercial drapery at production volume. Trouser manufacturers. Sleeve and cuff hemming specialists. Any apparel finishing operation needing invisible hems on both flat panels and tubular pieces.

The convertible swing arm is what differentiates this from the SW-718 (flatbed only) and the SW 500e (portable, smaller). One machine, two configurations — the operator swings the arm in for cylinder work (sleeves, cuffs, narrow tubular sections), swings it out for flatbed work (panel hems, drapery).

Why convertible matters

  1. One machine, two operations. Flatbed for drapery panels and trouser hems; narrow cylinder arm for sleeve and cuff hemming. Eliminates the buy-two-machines cost on shops doing both kinds of work.
  2. Japan-style blindstitch geometry. Picks up only a fraction of the front fabric so the stitch doesn't show on the right side. Same invisible-hem principle as the SW-718; the SW-101 is the Japan-style equivalent.
  3. 1:1 fabric advance. The synchronized feed prevents the fabric from drifting under the skip-stitch geometry — critical for keeping the stitch placement consistent across the seam.

Application examples

Hotel drapery

Blackout-lined drapery panels with finished bottom hem on flatbed configuration. Both faces of the panel show — invisible stitch is required.

Sleeve hems

Closed-tube sleeve hemming on dress shirts and jackets. Swing the arm in; operator slips the closed sleeve over the cylinder, hems around the inside.

Trouser hems

Wool blend trouser hems at production volume. Fast cycle on the flatbed configuration; spec consistency across the run.
